기존에 가장 널리 쓰이던 토런트 클라이언트는 μTorrent 이었습니다만 Vuze 의 등장으로 상황이 바뀌었습니다. Vuze는 완전히 새롭게 등장한 프로그램은 아닙니다. Azureus 라는 프로그램명으로 공개되었던 프로그램을 기반으로 향상된 기능이 추가되었습니다.

Vuze 를 실행하면 이 프로그램 안에서 토런트 파일의 검색과 다운로드, 실행이 모두 가능합니다. 검색시에는 Vuze HD Network 에 등록된 협력 업체들의 멀티미디어 자료들이 함께 검색되며 토런트 검색 결과로는 btjunkie, Mininova, Vuze 등 여러 토런트 검색엔진들의 검색 결과가 한꺼번에 출력되며 파일의 완전체를 보유한 사람을 의미하는 seeds와 불완전체를 가진 peers를 고려해서 Ranks(순위)를 매겨 높은 순위부터 리스트 출력합니다. 랭크가 높은 토런트로부터 받는 파일은 그만큼 빨리 받을 가능성이 높습니다.


Vuze 내에서 동작하는 Vuze HD Network 에서는 다양한 장르별로 HD급의 영상을 제공하고 있습니다. 영화의 경우 트레일러를 HD로 감상할 수 있도록 하고 있어 극장에서 볼 영화를 고를 때 편리할 것입니다.

 PC 뿐만 아니라 TV와 모바일 장치에서도 Vuze 라이브러리의 미디어 파일을 실행할 수 있습니다. 지원되는 장치는 아이폰, 아이팟, 애플TV, 플레이스테이션 3, XBox 360, PSP, Tivo 등입니다.
